Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the Onsite IT Specialist contributes to Crombie REIT’s success by supporting the management of the systems and processes designed to create, store, manipulate, distribute and disseminate information necessary for the execution of Crombie REIT’s strategy. Working within the framework of established operating procedures and in close cooperation with internal and external support personnel, this position troubleshoots and maintains PC’s, printers, building access, CCTV and parking systems to ensure optimal performance. The Onsite IT Specialist troubleshoots problem areas and provides end-user assistance and training where required.

As the IT Specialist, you will be responsible for providing second level support for systems, applications, hardware, and other incidents and requests by investigating problems and taking corrective actions. You will work to monitor and resolve requests from Crombie IT e-mail in a timely fashion taking ownership of open items and ensuring incidents are fully resolved or re-assigned, document all actions and solutions and update technical details within operational procedures as required.

Acting with a sense of urgency, the IT Specialist must be able to Identify and escalate production critical issues while ensuring effective operating procedures compliant with all relevant privacy legislation for all existing data systems and platforms (both hardware and software).The IT Specialist will work to identify gaps in processes and procedures for continual improvement of efficiencies in the organization, prepare and deliver reports, recommendations or alternatives that address existing and potential gaps in IT operations.

The profile we are looking for

Our ideal candidate will have one to three years of related experience working on troubleshooting, and resolving issues with desktop PCs and supporting a large complex user base. Post-secondary education in the field of Computer Science or IT Management is preferred, however all individuals demonstrating strong technical skills coupled with customer service, collaboration experience and an understanding of data communications with respect to local area networks and working knowledge of TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP will be considered. Professionalism and superior communication skills both verbally and written are a must.   The successful candidate must be able to develop and build upon existing relationships both internally and externally.
